Cottage by the Lake – cozy yet spacious, near parks!
Very quiet house with great energy and lots of amenities. Beautiful tranquil rooms for up to two people in each. We are in the process of adding a queen size bed to one room, so please inquire if that is a necessity for you. At the moment, one room has a Japan style, fold away bed makes room for yoga/meditation. Both current beds are equally comfortable and full size. Quiet, TV, wifi. View of woods, Lake Erie (300 ft. away), in walking distance to beach (1/2 mile), state park or bars. Room for boat in driveway. No smoking but moderate drinking is fine. You are responsible for your own meals and taking care of the house as if it were your own. Leaving it reasonably clean is a must.
The whole house. Kitchen, wood stove, view, wifi, internet, etc.
Interaction with guests
The caretaker is just down the road if you need anything.
It’s very quiet here, lots of wildlife, view of the lake. It feels very remote, although it isn’t, with a state park and the lake on two sides. Very inspiring for artists, writers, creative types. The houses vary from old rundown cottages to newer mansions. The street is a deadend T-shape that ends at the lake, so very little traffic.
There’s a bus that runs along route 5 that would take you to the nearest city (Buffalo) if you wanted to check that out. There’s great architecture there. But you would likely want to drive. There’s a winding, scenic route along the lake from Angola to hamburg that takes you past some lovely mansions and older houses, along with newer ones. the lake is an ever-changing thing of wonder.
Other things to note
Fill the bird feeders and watch the birds, bunnies and deer come in droves!!
The snow can be quite something here. We do have a person who plows, but do look at the weather forecast before coming.
